Fig Tree Print

During a time of illness, my favorite fig plant lost many leaves as I was unable to care for it. Upon my recovery, I began to water it regularly again, and it survived and is now thriving. Before its restoration, when I was still a little delicate, I painted a picture of my fig tree as I remembered it in its happy state, as a goal for us both to strive towards. Mental health varies day to day for most people. I’ve learned that the well-being of my plants mirrors my own wellbeing, or lack thereof, which helps me see when I’m slipping, so I can take care to give myself more rest time or get more support. This painting is intended to serve as a reminder to care for the things we love, so they, in turn, can take care of us.
